How does HRTC help families and friends?

Often friends and families feel desperate to help someone who they feel is suffering from the abuse of drugs or alcohol.   You want to do whatever you can to help them change. You may also be feeling betrayed, angry, or hopeless.

Harm reduction therapy often works with families to develop a conversation intervention approach.  Confrontations and demands for immediate abstinence often result in a fractured family. It's hard to know what to believe or do after seeing so much about addiction on popular TV shows. What really works?

At HRTC, family and friends are supported to make healthy contributions to their loved ones behavior change without feeling overwhelmed, alone or helpless.  Services may be individual or group based.  Family and friends can remain in an ongoing counseling relationship, while others may come for short-term appointments based on the situation.
