I don't think I have a problem, but everyone else does!
Sounds like you're getting some feedback about your alcohol or drug use that doesn't make sense to you. Sure you drink, but not any more than your friends; smoking pot never hurt anyone; and meth is strictly for partying. So what's up with the criticism? Maybe you could have a conversation - when you and your friends are just sitting around - and ask "why are you upset by my use?" Try to listen and decide if their feedback makes any sense. If not, let them know. If they have a point, it could be that they see different things in you than you notice. Often when people are high, they change in some fundamental ways - like become argumentative or withdrawn. You might not notice at the moment, but others do. Or maybe you can't really have a conversation with your family or friends. They just start criticizing and don't want to consider your viewpoint.
If you'd like to have an honest conversation about drinking or drugs without criticism and without pressure to change, call us for a consultation. We know how to listen and how to help you figure things out for yourself.
Remember - it's just a conversation. You only have to be ready to talk, not ready to change!
